Technical – Oracle 19c Client (32-bit) is now supported for the v3 and v4 Client, and Oracle 12.1.0.2 and 12.2.0.1 (32-bit) are no longer supported for the v3 and v4 Client (3.75)
Description
For the v3 and v4 Oracle Clients:
- Windows Server 19c (64 bit) is now supported
- Windows Server 12.2.0.1 (64 bit) is no longer supported
In addition, a 64-bit Oracle 19c client will be required on the mid-tier servers (Application/Session & Report/Deployment) and on the machine customers are using to run DBManager
Customers who have their LIVE and TEST environments on shared infrastructure should NOT remove existing Oracle 12.2.0.1 clients until the LIVE 3.75 upgrade has been completed. Versions of One prior to 3.75 have dependencies on the Oracle 12.2.0.1 client and they will not work with the newer 19c Oracle client. Similarly, the 3.75 software has dependencies on the Oracle 19c client and will not function with the older Oracle client. BOTH Oracle clients will be required until such time as all environments on the shared infrastructure are upgraded to 3.75.

Capita One has also identified a further dependency on the Oracle 12.2.0.1 ODAC 32-bit client which is required for SSRS functionality. If this client is removed a data source error will occur. Oracle has not yet provided a replacement 32-bit 19c version of this client. Until this becomes available this client should not be removed. Please refer to KB0048062 for more information.
Customers are reminded to ensure their Oracle 19c DLLs are registered. If this is not done a number of key applications will report issues or have difficulties in logging in, including Citizen and Provider Portals. KB0048064 provides more information on this topic.
