Statutory – Script to include only NCY2 students in Phonics 2021 Autumn return (3.76)
Description
Due to the pandemic, Phonics screening didn’t happen as per the defined period. Hence, pupils who will be moving into NCY2 will undertake the Phonics screening in the Autumn term.
Usually the return is provided to the DfE in June by Local Authorities. Since Phonics screening will happen in the Autumn term this year, the return should be submitted to DfE in December consisting of NCY2 students only.
In v4 client, when the results are imported and validated, it is possible that students other than those in NCY2 will be included. Currently there is no provision to remove multiple students from the return so a script will be provided. This will remove any students not required in the return so that only the correct students are exported in the file and submitted to the DfE.
The phonics screening check data collection will open on Monday 6 December 2021. The deadline for submission of data to the DfE by local authorities is Friday 21 January 2022.
